On Ubuntu 24.04 and later, the .deb is the one that works: the AppImage is blocked there by the system’s sandbox profile.

Straight talk: why Windows may warn you

The Agudot installer for Windows is not code-signed yet. Because of that, Windows SmartScreen may show a warning the first time you run the installer. The warning means the file is new and Windows does not know it yet, not that anything harmful was found in it. We are working on official signing for the next releases.

Only download the installer from this page, on agudot.com.

How to continue

  1. Open Agudot-Setup-0.4.0.exe, the file you downloaded.
  2. If the "Windows protected your PC" window opens, click "More info".
  3. Check that the app is Agudot-Setup-0.4.0.exe, then click "Run anyway".

Questions

How much does it cost?

Nothing. The browser is free, with no subscription and no trial period.

Why does Windows show a warning when I run the installer?

Because the Windows installer is not digitally signed yet. The full explanation and the steps to continue are in the "Straight talk" section above.

What does the tracker blocker block?

Third-party cookies and scripts that collect what you do from site to site. Websites keep working as usual.

Is there a Linux or Mac version?

Linux has a beta you can download on this page: a .deb for Ubuntu and Debian, and an AppImage for other distributions. The Mac version is still on its way. Meanwhile, Agudot Search works in any browser at agudot.com.

How do I uninstall it?

In Windows Settings, under "Apps", find "Agudot" and choose "Uninstall".
